Well i heard the solution was blowing your dsi buttons so it can work again. I never tried it before (that is because i had no problems with my dsi) but it also works with GBA, i tried it with gba.

As a last resort, do open it by all means just remember where and what size the screw is. Just try pushin the button repeatedly and like it did for my ds voilà your button is fixed.
