on that car the bearing should be pressed into the hub so the only way the mechanic could have broken it is if he had to change it and got the bearing pressed in the hub crooked. if you have the kind of wheel bearing that you adjust he could have adjusted them too tight. i doubt that you can prove he did something. it would be your word against his. all you can do about that is see if he will make it right and if he refuses put his name in the paper.
