Question: Please help me fix my xbox360 controller?

Answer #1:
Start by grabbing a Phillips screwdriver. Flip your controller over and remove the 7 screws holding your controller together. Flip it right side up and remove the top cover. Don't panic if it looks like everything just fell apart.
Remove all the buttons and rubber pads they are sitting on. It is a good idea to lay them out on the floor or table, what ever you are working on, in the same pattern as they go in your controller. Makes it easier when you are trying to figure out what color goes where. You could also draw yourself a diagram before you remove the buttons.
You will probably notice that the board and buttons are sticky. Wash all the rubber pads in mild soapy water. Dishwashing soap works well. If the board is really bad wash it too. If it does not look too bad you can get some cotton swabs and some rubbing alcohol and clean the contacts that the rubber pads were sitting on.
Make sure everything is completely clean and dry. Turn your top cover over and start replacing your buttons. They should be keyed so they can only go in one way. Next put the rubber pads back in place on top of the buttons. At this point you still have the top cover inverted.
Re-install the bottom cover and install the screws. Check your buttons to make sure they all move freely. Plug it back in and it should now work as good as new.

Answer #2:
Sounds like it is not the actual plastic piece that is causing the problem, but rather the button it pushes. Try to wiggle the little button around. Then try to put the LB on and see if it clicks. If it does not, I suggest getting a new one, or send it in for repair, which might cost $20-$30. In my opinion if you are already sending it in for a repair for that amount, you might as well stretch it for a new one.
Another suggestion is to look at the plastic piece (I know I said it probably wasn't the problem), and see if there are any chips in the plastic, or wearing. If there is, this could mean it could become faulty and not correctly pushing the button.
Once again, if neither of these suggestions work, either send it in for repair, or get a new one.
Good Luck!
